Mindanao Displacement Dashboard May 2018
The Protection Cluster monitored and reported five (5) displacement incidents in May, which displaced 408 families (approximately 1,990 persons) in Mindanao. Five more displacement incidents were reported throughout the province of Maguindanao, however the numbers are undetermined.
Over a year after the death and destruction brought about by the fighting between government forces and ISIS-inspired militant groups, humanitarian assistance for IDPs – both in evacuation centres and home-based settings across Lanao provinces – continue to be a cause for concern. IDPs continue to raise the lack of access to livelihood opportunities for self-reliance and information on the regularity of provision of assistance, as well as how their properties will be impacted by the planned rehabilitation of Marawi.
